One of the best singles joints in town, and typically a good stop for a beer regardless of who's on stage. Amos' hosts a very diverse range of live acts, but the proprietors have good taste and shows there are generally expected to be pretty good. Like South End Brewery, Amos' popularity exceeds the mere gentrification of the neighborhood it helped make South End hip.

A cab is also a reasonable option, since the district is only about a mile from Uptown. Brevard until it becomes South Blvd after the I-277 junction). South Blvd connects to I-485 south of the city, giving visitors from that direction an easy inlet to the district. Overall, I would recommend and definitely want to come back in the future.South End is well connected to other parts of Charlotte. However, they seemed pretty busy that day, and they were all very friendly at least. We didn't seem to have one specific server, it seemed like 4 different people visited our table, and because of this, my drink was never refilled. It just wasn't attentive or above average. And clean bathrooms, which is always an important pro.

I ordered the pulled pork with mac and cheese, and sweet potato fries to share. It definitely looks like the place to be. Pros: Complimentary hush puppies were great, the sweet tea was delicious, I loved the decor of both the inside and outside. The first place we picked out happened to be closed, so this was our second choice, and boy am I glad that first place was closed!
